This afternoon I noticed Ted just didn’t seem quite his self, I lifted him out and found all his tummy wet underneath with smelly pee. I managed to get an Appointment late this afternoon and the vet was really good. Gave him a thorough examination and thinks he has a UTI. I did check his bits earlier and found a small lump of poo right up inside his bits. His little Willy looked quite sore so perhaps it’s set up an infection. He is rather windy too, but pooping and eating ok. I have managed to get a good sample of his pee tonight, he didn’t appreciate sitting in the plastic storage box while eating some leafy greens. I have to drop the pee off at 8.30 am tomorrow as they shut at 6 tonight. He has been given
Septrin 0.43 ml twice daily
Fibreplex
Metacam has been upped to 0.5 ml twice daily

Fingers crossed he will be ok, he is such a fighter and loves life x

I hope he feels better soon :( luckily you’ve noticed it quickly.
I know it’s impossible but try not to worry! xx

Poor old Ted, sounds like you spotted this very fast though and got straight to the vets- paws crossed its just a minor UTI that clears up fast with antibiotics x

Fingers crossed that Ted starts feeling better soon.

Aw, thanks so much everyone, feel a bit guilty as I should have check his bits a little more regularly but he hates it so much. Goodness knows how long that poo‘s been up there, blooming boys and their bits!
Hoping these AB starts working quickly, he has been sat most of the after looking quite uncomfortable, I’ve given him a syringe top up just now, he’s had all his meds and is back in with the girls now but not sure if it would be better separating him into the west wing as they are eating everything put in front of him?

Sending Ted lots of healing vibes and get well wishes.
I'd keep him with the girls if you an @Bill & Ted I think he would be happier. Can you take him out of the cage to eat his favourite veggies so the girls don't take it all.
Big hugs from me to you, these piggies are such a worry.

My piggies are sad when they hear of poorly piggies and wanted me to send lots of good wishes to Ted and hope he gets well soon xx

Yes, I do that pretty much anyway because he eats quite slow compared to those two greedy girls! He’s staying in with the girls, I think he will be happier in the long run. I’ve made a nice cosy cardboard box house with vet bed in the “west wing” so he can toddle off for a bit of piece if he needs it.

Thanks everyone for your best wishes and kindness, hope he is looking better tomorrow x

Auntie Debbie sends you lots of get well wishes, Ted! Hopefully you'll be feeling very much better, once the meds kick in x
Thanks Debbie. In the topic of “if you can go into the vets”, then yes today I walked in wearing my mask, sanitised my hands in reception, was then given a pager and asked to wait in the car. Pager went off, I took Ted into the surgery, it had a large screen separating me from the vet and the examination table, it was really nice to discuss everything including what meds etc.

Oh no, poor Ted. Sorry to hear you are a poorly boy. Sending healing vibes from us and the piggies. Hope you feel better soon.♥

It was a shock to see this thread today.
Poor Ted, he was doing so well.
It’s good you were able to get him to the vet so promptly.
Hope the meds work quickly and handsome Ted will be back to his normal gorgeous self.
Holding you in my heart
