Can anyone tell me if it okay to use tea tree spray on piggies, could help to keep pests away.?/

Tea tree oil can be quite dangerous for pets in general (I have a book on aromatherapy for animals somewhere), so I'd definitely not use it on small animals.

For many years I used aromatherapy oils to treat g. pig skin problems. Results were very good.
However, I began to suspect that a small percentage of pigs were affected by Tea Tree oil. A number died about a week after treatment. I stopped using any essential oils over 10 years ago. I admit to wondering about using them again but I would not use TT oil.

That's really interesting to hear (although obviously I'm sorry about the pigs :()

I could not prove cause and effect and I did not want to experiment by treating more pigs with TT oil. It may have been coincidence, I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Thanks for your replies. I will not use TT oil on the piggies as opinions seem to vary.
