My piggie, Cream, will be having a surgery on Monday for her ovarian cysts. She is around 4 years old, very healthy and very excited for her surgery so she can feel better! We’re hoping all goes well with her and her surgery, wish us luck!

Thank you all for the lovely comments! I’ll make sure to let you know how it goes! :)

Betsy had a spay for ovarian cysts 8 weeks ago she is just over 4 and came through it OK. She is now back to her happy self once more. Cream may not feel like eating straight away so have some Recovery Food in just in case. Betsy didn't want to eat but would speed feed on the Recovery Food. As soon as one syringe had gone in she swallowed the contents and wanted more. She can't have even chewed it it was gone, straight down! Never speed syringe fed a piggy before. I syringe fed her for about 3 days after the operation It took around 6 weeks for her weight to stabilise.

Good luck Cream! Ive had 4 spayed since September, while not without a couple of complications it has really given them all a new lease on life.

Thank you! What recovery food would you recommend I purchase?

There are several good ones. I have used Emeraid, Science Selective Recovery Plus (must be Plus as it has Vit C in the normal one hasn't) and Oxbow Critical Care.

Hope all goes well.
I’ve had 2 girls spayed and both came through fine.
It takes a few days for them to get over the op - as well as syringe feeding I used to pop a ramekin dish of Oxbow Critical Care in the cage to help encourage eating.
Mine seem to love the Oxbow best, especially if a small chunk of banana is mixed in it.
