Sulfatrim

We're back! We didn't see our favourite exotic vet after all, as she was doing an emergency surgery, but we saw a very nice general vet who seemed to know her stuff. Peanut's back on ABs and Loxicom. He's already been on daily Cystease for suspected IC for the last 4 years so we are to continue that. The vet is concerned there may be something more going on in the bladder although on palpitation it feels fine. At a frail 6.5 years old I wouldn't consider putting him through an operation it would just be palliative care anyway so we don't feel sedation for a blood test and CT scan would be worth the risk at present. We will see how he goes in the next few weeks and make a decision on next step if needed then.

All the best! The medication and treatment plan is about what I would expect.

Diego is currently on 2 cystease capsules per day as recommended by my guinea pig savvy vet (one in the morning, one in the evening) which has helped ease some of his symptoms. The cartrophen injections have also been a big help which might be worth considering too. Good you got him seen so quickly ☺️
