if you know she now isn’t getting much water, then potentially yes. I’d speak to the vet.
Could you try putting in bowls of water instead of bottles and see if that helps? (They are all different - My piggies won’t drink from bowls, but one of my rabbits won’t drink from a bottle!)
Thank you very much for your answer. I'm ringing them as soon as they open as I've realised that she's drinking even less than usual. She never really got the hang of a bottle and will only take a couple of sips now and then, clumsily, so I do always keep a bowl in as well. She just won't drink out of it. She did drink more when there was ProC in the bottle for a a week or so, but I can't do that long term, especially as it is her sister, with perfect poops, who drinks constantly, from both bottle and bowl -- a huge amount. I don't know how I would get water down her, other than through veg but I'm so wary of re-introducing that too soon. I'll ask the vet to do a thorough examination.if you know she now isn’t getting much water, then potentially yes. I’d speak to the vet.

I'll ask the vet to do a thorough check but she does eat plenty of hay and her weight is good. Are their teeth fine my runt willow just went 3 to 4 weeks with a problem of 3 rounds of the runs and basically stop eating turned out her back teeth where the issue
I don't know why I'm getting double quoted posts when I try to reply to one -- sorry.I'll ask the vet to do a thorough check but she does eat plenty of hay and her weight is good.
This time I was going to go to one of the recommended vets on this forum, at some distance from us, but it is such a logistical nightmare and in the end I just wanted to get her seen asap as I’ve been worrying so much about her. What I had planned to do if necessary, and will now do, is try an online consultation with them as I see from the website that they do that. In the meantime, at least they’ve had a hands-on examination, an extra weigh-in and nail trims!aw so sorry to hear you are still having issues.... can you get to a specialist vet? I saw one this week after my rollercoaster with brownie.. it makes all the difference seeing someone who really knows their stuff! I know it's not practical for emergencies when a vet is further away... x
Yes, I'm so happy. I was getting really worried about Bianca given that this was coupled with her puffing up her fur at times other than eating (during eating is normal for them) and the fact that this once popcorn-mad little sow was now rarely popcorning. It will make such a difference being able to give them a variety of veg again. I haven't been enjoying them, worrying about their diet too much.Phew I’m so pleased Bianca is ok and you have had the reassurance from the specialist vet. You can relax and enjoy your piggies![]()
