Came home last night after being out all day visiting family to find one of my two boars has been injured with a split lip :(
The wound looks painful with dried blood around it but touch wood he's still eating, drinking and being his normal self really. He obviously got quite fidgety when I tried to bathe the wound but showed no sign on being in major pain (although I know they do their best to hide this!)
We are going for a night away tomorrow and my sister is coming to "pigsit"... Just wondering if anyone thinks a trip to the vet just in case is needed? And what's the best thing to do now with the wound? Has anyone had this happen before?

I'm sorry your boars have fallen out. Have you separated them? If not, have you considered separating them? Have they fallen out before?
With regard to the lip if you have any doubt that your piggy is in pain or at risk of an infection you should seek veterinary help for him.

Please disinfect the wound with saline solution, which you make with stirring 1 teaspoon of salt into 1 pint/ 500 ml of boiled, cooled water. If you are lucky, it is just a superficial swipe wound, and the bond has not yet broken. If the tension between the tow is palpable, then a serious scuffle has taken place, and you may want to separate at least temporarily.
