Back to topic..... apologies....

The sky here (Glasgow) was really dark and foreboding earlier , but it's cleared up and sunny now. - weird.

God that's so depressing to think there might be people young enough not to know who flash Gordon is
I know I felt the same! I feeling old as next Wednesday I am another year older and another year stupider! But I prefer to be 21 with 31 years experience!

We now have blue skies and lots of wind where I live. Going out to feed my shed girls and give them tons of hay tonight. Hope the shed fairs alright tonight. No trees near by so I am confident it will be alright.

I’m in Ireland and think the worst has passed me now. Luckily where I am wasn’t as bad as other parts of the country. So thankful I brought my guinea pigs in from the shed last week.
If the storm is on its way to you in the uk I hope you and your pets and loved ones stay safe x

OMG, I have just got home and blimey it's proper

blowing a gale.
It took me an age to feed & baton down the hatches (hutches), but with my hair flying around the place, kneeling down in tights and office dress still. We're all secure.

Now I know what a cocktail in a shaker feels like, currently 68mph outside the car and its rocking on its wheels, which is no mean feat for a two ton patrol car carrying nearly a ton of equipment! :yikes:

Stay safe if your somewhere it's bad, strangely enough we had the weird light till lunch time then by 4pm it was lovely. Even the cows next to work came out for a wonder IMG_20171016_153945861.webp Can hear the wind whistling outside again now

Calm here and orange. Bit windy but nothing much. Starry starry night.

Even I know that movie! It’s iconic! So yeah you native speakers have no excuse to be in the dark.

And you’d never get away with that Ming the merciless now!

I'm on the west coast of Scotland. Very windy! And it's wheelie bin night of course haha. Can't wait for the wheelie bin obstacle course on my drive to work tomorrow! I drive a fiat 500 and my road to work is next to the sea so wish me luck! :yikes: Hopefully don't get blown into the sea....

Hope everyone's outdoor piggies are safe!

So come on where are all the REAL pictures of this yellow and orange sky I keep hearing about?

The sky was amazing, I was driving into Birmingham for a meeting at 11am and blimey it felt very apocalyptic, very eerie. But obviously couldn't take photo's as driving. Bizarre

Hmm I thought I heard it wasn't hitting us now so just checked out met office. Ireland will take the brunt of this and Scotland will be affected to. Perhaps western part of England but for the rest of us it should be a warm couple of days. Definitely glad to be living the eastern side of England right now :)
Northern Ireland getting pretty strong gusts. Guinea pigs all cosy in their beds.

On my way home ;) We have very expensive remote weather monitoring stations dotted along the motorway. The operator came over the air, "control to patrol 2, wind speed is registering at 68mph in your area, what are the conditions like?" There was a short pause and the patrol answered, "windy!" :lol!:
