Severe respiratory infection and not eating

Aw, sending hugs to you and Crumble, hope she starts to recover very soon

The vet believes it to be pneumonia. Her breathing isn’t good and she has lost weight. There is the possibility there is something wrong with her heart or lungs but she is so fragile that we are apprehensive about doing an X-ray or ultrasound.

the only small bit of good news is that she has started doing really stringy poos so at least her digestive tract is moving abit. Just praying for her to improve :(

I rather expected that. :(

What medication is she on? Do you have a healthy companion so you can give a little 'poo soup' to help prop up the gut? The output reflects what has gone in a day or two before; it is not reflecting the current situation. For that, daily weighing is the right tool. Persist with feeding as much as you can get into her; ideally as close to 60 ml as you can come but if not aiming for 40 ml. Right now, you are in the 'kitchen sink' make or break phase where whatever works goes...

My beautiful baby has gone to piggy heaven. She began breathing even worse and her lips went blue. She looked at me with her beautiful eyes and I knew it was time. I am devastated. Sleep well baby 😞

I am so sorry for the loss of Crumble. You did everything possible to try and save her. Sleep well little one. 🌈

BIG HUGS

So sorry! I looks she was in sudden acute heart failure in addition to the URI. Nothing you can do about it (nor your vet), so please do not feel like you have failed her - just very bad luck that the two have played off each other. :(

Please be kind with yourself and give yourself time to grieve, sleep and make allowance that you are going to feel very, very low once the high adrenaline output is finally running out and is leaving you feeling hungover and increadibly drained and exhausted at some point in the next few days.
