Hello my guineapig had a cyst for a year wich has now burst and left an open wound . I have been quoted 400 - 700 pound to get it removed . I am currently cleaning with saline solution and Leucillin antiseptic solution and then leaving an antibacterial powder on top when finished . Every couple of days more or the cyst will come out and it is still slightly raised Could you please give opinions and advise if this looks like it's going to heel without having the surgery .

Has it been seen by the vet, and has the vet approved the course of action you are taking?

Is your piggy on painkillers?

Cysts have a habit of refilling and can become infected. Surgery is often the best way to deal with them. I’m afraid we can’t know what will happen but can only ever advise a vet has a hands on check.

Iv not taken him back since it's ruptured as was told can either leave it or get it surgically removed but I am unable to pay 400-700 yes I have been given painkiller for him

I'm afraid this really comes down to what you are happy to do in the situation.
As I said, bursts cysts have a habit of causing issues and refilling and many do need surgical removal.
You vet should be consulted now it has burst so they can advise specifically to your case with a hands on check.

I hope he is ok

One of my past pigs had something really similar. She developed a lump on her lower back and the vet did a stab incision to assess what it was and empty it out. It turned out to be a sebaceous cyst. They left it alone to heal, but what happened instead was that the skin that had been overlying the cyst dried up and died, leaving a skin opening and the cyst capsule pushing out (that's basically what you're seeing there- the pink tissue poking out is the wall of the cyst poking through the opening in the skin.) There just wasn't any way the skin was going to regrow to cover the area, so we ended up needing to remove the entire cyst capsule, freshen up the edges of the wound, stertch the skin over and put in some stitches The good news was that this was a really minor procedure and she never had an issue with the area again. My guess from that experience is that this is going to need some intervention because the gap in the skin is too large for it to properly heal over the cyst capsule, but really only your vet can give you an informed answer here.
