Riff had an xray this morning and there are at least two bladder stones present. We have booked in for surgery tomorrow morning.

I am terrified. I was hoping I would be celebrating tomorrow and now this has happened. Please send your love and support to Riff, my best friend.

GOOD LUCK DARLING RIFF xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

All our thoughts will be with you both xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
What time is Riff's op love?

Aww I'm so sorry Lucinda, I hope he will be ok. Will be thinking of you both. x

Good luck Riff, hope all goes well for you, will be thinking of you both x

Good luck and wishing him a speedy recovery

Sendings hugs and xoxoxoxo

Thanks all.

We are dropping him off at 9. At the moment Riff is first on the list.

aw lucinda, I am hoping Riff is ok, we both know Emmie will do her very best, thinking of you both x

Thanks guys.

Emmie is on hols. It's going to be Gina doing it (she did the xray today). Do you go to Highertown, Ellie?

Thinking of you and hope Riff gets on ok.

I once had a piggy operated on for bladder stones and he came through it fine. The vet gave me the stones!

Good luck Riffy! Make sure you give him a stroke or a bit of lap time from me. I'm sending out all the get well and healing vibes I can muster xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good luck Riff and Lucinda - we are going through the same thing with Curly at the moment so I know exactly how you feel. Our little guy made it through surgery remarkably well and is currently receiving lots of tlc.

Keeping everything crossed for you. xx

Lots of love to Riff and positive vibes for a speedy reovery x

Thank you everyone.

Riff has now had the stones removed. Gina (the vet) also removed a fatty lump for Riff. Riff woke up well from the anaesthetic and was soon pottering around. They have asked to keep him overnight to check the urine output and to start anti biotic injections. I would love Riff home but it is better to do as they suggest.

It has been an awful, stressful day.

Riff and you have been in my thoughts Lucinda. Glad he is awake and mobile, keep us posted when you can. x

I will go up to Truro first thing tomorrow and ring them. Providing Riff is going to the lav OK we should be able to come home in the morning.

They are also going to give me the stones, and I think I am going to be shocked at the size.

Glad he has come around ok and I am sure he will make a speedy recovery with the care you will give him.

Was he in a lot of pain prior to this? Be interesting to see the size of the stones and of course its harder for boars to pass them :( Poor love...

Oh its horrid when they are at the vets and you dont know what is happening, I do feel for you xx

I have just picked up on this thread.

So sorry that it did turn out to be stones for Riff and so pleased that all seems well for him after the operation. It is a really good sign that he is moving around ... bless him! xx>>>

In the past I have had two piggies operated on for stones. Poppy was my first one and the vet did give me the stone to bring home. It was the size of an acorn ... beige coloured and oval shaped.

I am sure Riff will be fighting fit again very soon, but I know what a worrying time it has been for you.

Hugs to you and Riff x

Very glad Riff woke up ok and seems to be fine. Hope his toilet habits are normal and he can go home.

Ah I didn't know Emmie was on holiday, thank you for letting me know that (I only let her deal with the rabbits!)

Will be strange to have the actual stones....! thinking of you and Riff x
