Hello,
looking for some help please.
My 2 year old Boar has a red clot protruding from his penile region. It only comes out when coaxed with a cotton blood. There was a lot of blood this morning when i picked him up.
He is eating fine, pooing fine but seems to be in pain and his legs twitch.
I’ve called the vet and trying to get him an emergency appointment but my local vet isn’t a guinea pig specialist and is reluctant to see him. Any help or advice gratefully received!

Oh goodness, I would class that as a same day emergency trip to the vet.

It could be injury or bleeding from a stone or from a sperm rod that has got stuck and come out causing some injury to the delicate region. Poor little fellow. Is there any evidence of a stone or anything in his cage that he might have passed?

Thanks everyone.
The vet said he has a UTI. He has been given anti inflammatory and antibiotics and hopefully he will get better in a few days. Fingers crossed x

Fingers crossed for him, poor boy! Good on you getting him seen so quickly too.
