Hello all,

We have two teddy guinea pigs and although they're fine at the moment we want to make sure we know of a good vet near us in case we ever need one.

Can anyone recommend a vet in North London, or if that's too specific then anywhere in London, that's good with piggies?

We've had a look at the Guinea Pig Forum's vet listing but there aren't any London vets on there.

Thanks
H & R

I can recommend Leyton midland's veterinary surgery :) very friendly, caring staff who have excellent knowledge, and do specialise in exotics such as guinea pigs.

North London ? I think you need register and visit Vedra CCT :)
But there is thread on forums with many addresses.
You probably need to have things like syringe, recovery mix ready etc

Also you need to have kitchen scale and check weight regularly and make surethat pigs eat every time you give food.

I work here in Barnet, and we deal with piggies quite often. Beth is the best vet to see about piggies, if you wanted to go there. We've done a successful C section on my pig, and we neuter boys often with no problems.

x.

What a coincidence! The Wood Street hospital is just down the road from us!

We've decided to book in both our guinea pigs for a check up this Saturday with Beth. They've been with us for about 6 months so we thought it would be a good idea to have them checked out just to make sure everything's ok.

We think they may both be a bit on the heavy side but I guess the vet will let us know for sure on Saturday.

Thank you so much for the recommendation.

Thank you for the recommendation. This place looks great and definitely helpful to have as an option. The membership fee is very reasonable!

Our only concern would be how the piggies would cope with a longer car journey so it's good to have a local vet who comes recommended as well.

Well done for your foresight! :)
It's great knowing and feeling comfortable with a vet who's able to care for your piggies and any other animals before you need them! Whee have so learnt this !
