Hey all,
I’m a member of other forums on the internet, and one post today just really got to me here is the post:
‘It’s my birthday in two days and I really want another pet. I have a dog and I’ve had guinea pigs and hamsters before, i was forced to give away my recent guinea pig because he still gave off an oder. My parents hated it...’ the post go on about their recent pets and at the end they put ‘ so my choices now are rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs or any other small pet which do you think is right for me?'
I just had to rant, do people not think of responsible pet ownership and what that involves? Most importantly time love and constant care, but most of all being able to pay for their care if they become ill, surely people go through research and understanding involvement/ commitment to a new pet before considering welcoming a new member to their family?
Ughh it just annoys me very much, this irresponsibleness leaves so many unwanted and abandoned animals!
When i was much younger the RSPCA came into my primary school, and gave the whole school a presentation to both the parents and us, on pet ownership and what it involves, I think this should be done much much more as it'd save many animals become unwell, abandoned and mistreated!
Rant over
