Potteries GPR Xmas Fair Nov 18th 2023

Here are some pictures of my little courtesy corner on @Merab's Slave 's table - thank you very much, Heather; especially as you had to sit right next to temptation all the time! The biscuits did sell well and I made over Β£70 with them.

My donation is paying for the ingredients used in the baking myself but giving the full amount raised on the day to the rescue.

After that it did get a bit too busy for pictures...

A big thank you to @Qualcast&Flymo for giving me and my biscuits and cakes a lift in her car again and waiting patiently to sell up and pack up. The gooseberry jam jars next to the biscuits are hers and have found new homes! :)

A big thank you for everybody who has contributed to my lovely birthday card and piggy pillow that I have been given by @VickiA on behalf you all. It has really touched me.

I hope that you have enjoyed the cakes in turn! It was lovely to meet you all and have a chat again.

Chuffed to hear that Merlin is happy in his new home and that he is thriving as much as his sister Blodyn and two half-brothers, @Bradshaw Piggies . Also great to see Koda again; I hope that he enjoys all his teddies! :D

Hello All
Firstly a HUGE thank you to all forum members who visited our event today and to those who sent good wishes. Special thanks to Wiebke and Merabs slave ( Heather) for raising funds on their stall.
It totally worked folks because our total for today is …….Β£1200 πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
That’s an amazing amount and secures care and rescue work right through the winter.
It was so lovely to meet you all today and as always I didn’t get as much time as I would have liked to chat as I’m so busy on event day.
I’m truly blessed with such a good team around me and supporters like yourselves.
I do hope there’s a meet up I can attend next year and hopefully see you all next November !
Helen x
Wow Β£1200 that's a brilliant result, even better than last year. πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

Hope we can have a Midlands meet-up next year too x!

Aw that’s lovely and I love the cushion 😍 x

How do you know who is a forum member when you attend these things ? Secret password? Name badge? Or guinea pig hair on the clothes, hay in the hair and poops being found in the handbag when getting the purse out?

If you attend for the first time and don't recognise anybody then it helps to wear a badge with your forum name and somebody will talk to you and help to introduce you to others. If it is biscuits, it's usually me... :D

If you’re brave enough to declare your intention to come along then Forum members will keep an eye out for you. Most of us were wearing some sort of Guinea pig T-shirt on Saturday. If we are organising a meet at a public train station we will create a group chat for those attending to exchange numbers and also to describe the meeting point and identifying features - often a prominently held woolly pig or occasionally a hand made Forum sign.
But strands of hay & poop usually accompany us!

The first time I went I was too shy and I just went without anyone knowing. I had a nice time but didn't talk to any forum members (not with either of us knowing it anyway) last time I stated my intentions on the forum and met a few forum members some of the more experienced forum members just know how to spot us I guess. This year there was a full table of us sat around wearing Guinea pig tshirts with Guinea pig bags talking about Guinea Pigs I'm Sure anyone could have spotted us a mile away.

Your beautiful dress was also a bit of a give away πŸ˜‰

All set for tomorrow!

Chocolate balls, Austrian vanilla and almond shortbread crescents, Christmas shortbread with a layer of mincemeat,
gingerbread guinea pigs, vegan/gluten-free chocolate and orange biscuits (still pack a punch in terms of flavour) for sale.

Chocolate/choc chip cake and a lemon and poppy seed cake for those who like to celebrate my birthday with me - you have to be nice to me, though! :D

See you!
