Post dental surgery care

Thank you all so much for your kindness and well wishes ❤️ Take care everybody and wishing all of your piggies well too ❤️

I am so sorry for your loss. It's one of those horrible things that sometimes, it really just doesn't matter how much we do for them, it will never be enough. Those are the real heartbreakers especially when running on a lack of sleep and having given round the clock syringe feeding.
I hope you can take solace in the fact that you did everything you could for Claude and, when it became obvious it wasn't going to work, you gave that final act of kindness in letting him go so he wouldn't suffer. It's always a tough call. Be kind to yourself while you grieve

I'm so sorry for your loss x
A similar thing happened to one of my little sows at 3 and a half. The vet said her teeth were slightly overgrown but warned that sometimes this is the cause of not eating and sometimes it is a symptom. I think she realised then that her teeth weren't bad enough to stop a pig eating completely. My girl had her dental, but still didn't eat anything for herself for some weeks and had to be syringed - which took a terribly long time because she would chew the food for ages and not seem to swallow. It was only at the very end, when she had actually become unwell and had to be pts, that we were able to speculate what might have happened. It's possible that some sort of growth in the throat had got bigger and bigger, maybe a cancer. In these circumstances there's just nothing we can do. You have done your absolute best for Claude and given him a good life. Take care of yourself. Rest in peace little fellow 💕
