Poorly Lennox :(

I would really recommend using ivermectin based spot on like Xeno for the other pigs too. The vet should get it in for you and it is cheaper buying a bigger batch. They also really need a second dose in about 10 days time to catch any mites later in the life cycle. I had a long chat with my vet when Tea cake had mites and so looked into the treatments then. Preventing it spreading is better than having to cope with really itchy, sore pigs. The sprays do diddly squat I believe.

But I am not an experienced as some others so maybe PM Abi Nurse to check my thinking? best of luck for sorting it out

I would agree, if other pigs are living with Lennox they need to be treated with Ivermectin too, go back to your vet though and get it, dont use over the counter sprays.
You can buy Xeno online, but I would highly recommend vet diagnoises & treatment. I keep the Xeno in standby in my store cupboard.

Just wanted to say owwwwwwwch and hope Lennox is ok hon xx

ps/ just a thought, do you have one of those harness things, not to use as a walky harness, but i have seen people use them to keep like a bandage in place?

HEALING WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKY LOVES AND KISSES FOR LENNOX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Poor piggie and poor you. I hope she is feeling a bit better today, fingers crossed. You are doing all you can x

it does look like mites, they can make a right mess of themselves in just 5 mins as I actually witnessed with crystal, she rubbed her whole backend on the fleece for just a few seconds and then ran around upset, she gave herself carpet burns along her back. The reason for her having sore patches was treating with over the counter spot on which was not the right way to effectively treat her, what I thought was lice and sensitive skin turned out to be mites and chemical burns from the cheap ineffective spot on I thought would do the job. I did this once with a dog wormer, she threw up flem soon after worming her and I learnt then as I have with the spot on now, not to go for non vet prescribed medicines.

Anyway, agree with getting stuff for all the pigs from the vets, two treatments for the others and three for lennox. It wont hurt to treat them all for mites and bugs as they could be carrying them and she will get reinfested (mine showed no symptoms either when crystal had hers, treated them all anyway).

Oh honey, i hope you did get some sleep, it was probably pain killer he injected her with which *** make her sleepy so dont worry atleast she is comfortable.

How is she this morning? xx

Hope Lennox is feeling a little better today and you got some sleep x
