Thank youWhen I've brought them home I've just left them long enough to say their goodbyes - usually it's been 15-30 minutes. They go over and sniff, and maybe lick their eyes a little bit, then mine have moved away and started eating. I once left a piggy in overnight but I tucked her in a little shoebox of hay and left the lid ajar so her friends could go back to her if they wanted. Then in the morning I moved the box away and they didn't look for her.
I'm so sorry to hear the news about your lovely girlYou gave her every chance and it must have just been her time. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be any choice but I would also absolutely have given the surgery a go - she would have been increasingly unhappy without it and you have spared her the suffering which is the kindest thing. She knew how much you loved her. Rest in peace little Florence

Thank you, I know I have her mate to look after now , , feel guilty thinking that,Oh Dave. I’m so, so sorry for you. Florence was clearly hiding a very nasty secret. But she was coping well and loving life until it finally got to the stage where it made her feel poorly. You gave her the best chance. I am just so sad for you this evening.Huge hugs xx

She licked her as you said, WOW,, I've taken her away, thank you,Thank you
Massive thank you, xOh Dave it looks like she was full of cancers. I once lost a lively young girl, Teepee, a similar way. I hadn't had her long and she hadn't lost any significant weight but I got the sense she was in pain and the vet thought perhaps something in the gut... they phoned me as soon as they were in the operating theatre and said she was full of cancer and there was nothing they could do. It's such a shock for you and it's not fair, but it was such a good thing you knew her well enough to realise she wasn't feeling right at this point. You gave her such a good life. We're all thinking about you and your girls tonight x
Thank you, I be less upset if she was say 6 or so, , , but she was only 3,Oh Dave, so sorry to hear about Florence. She was truly a very lucky piggy to have you. I know how much you love and care for your piggies, you always do the best for them and go the extra mile. Little Florence was such a brave piggy and didn't want to worry her Daddy.
Sending massive hugs to you and Mrs Dougal.
Run free at the rainbowbridge with Coco little Florence.xx
Thank you Claire, , ,xSadly it does sound like she was full of cancer. But she was a trooper right until the end. She wouldn’t have suffered which is the main thing (((hugs))) x
