Hi guys, I would like to start drawing guinea pigs and need some anatomy pictures. I've tried a lot of google, but usually it's hit or miss. Usually memes or some really sad pics of guinea pigs (dead :( ).

So, I was hoping for your help! I need pictures of guinea pigs in motion: climbing, standing, running, etc. And, at different angles. Other pictures that would be helpful are close-ups of faces, noses, ears, and feets/hands.

Attached is an example of pictures I'm looking for. I would use my own piggies, but usually all they do is nap right now and it's difficult to get good pictures of them. This would be a huge help and if I can get enough pictures in this thread, I'll post my sketches.

Attached photos are not drawn by me (I'm not nearly that good). Just an example of the types of in motions pictures I'm looking for. PLEASE feel free to post as many pictures as you'd like of your precious little ones! :)

Telling me to go to the library isn't all that helpful as it's not really what I'm asking for at all, lol.

But its one way to get pictures of guinea's features up close. There is plenty of pictures if you look in most of the threads in the Photo and video sub forum :nod:
Best thing I did to help me in learning to draw horses(I know they are not guinea pigs but I love them) was to break down the shape and do quick informal sketches (quick 5 min drawings) of your own guinea pigs :).

Well, I found a decent stock website that helped me. I was looking for specific pictures of guinea pigs leaping/running and close ups. I was hoping forum members could have been more helpful. Thanks.

Lol Guinea pigs &activity aren't the easiest of pictures to find ;)

I'll have a look tomorrow -on a long day at work :(Today.

Do u have any movie editing software that u could take stills off of a running leaping piggy?

Maybe tag skinny pig owners they wIll show the muscles &body forms better?

@helen105281. @GloriousGuineaGirl
@Hans

Sure there's some more skinny owners.
Good luck be lovely to see your
sketches when done :)

That would help immensely! I'm glad someone understands, even picture books are usually just cute guinea pig pictures, not detailed ones for anatomy. I would really appreciate your help, as well as anyone on the forum who is willing to help. I'm not asking anyone to take pictures, just if you happen to have pictures (come on we all probably have tons of pictures already, I know I do haha). If people could please share their pictures here. It would help me a LOT. I can't sketch my own pigs right now because they aren't bonded and the tame one (Queso) doesn't move much during floor time lol (he's so fat.)

Here are sketches I've already done and I'm working on more. I've been working from videos and pictures, but as you said they're really hard to find! :)

Pigs stretching, leaping, lifting heads, yawning, sniffing, and playing together is ideal! :)

There's a link to a Facebook public page &a picture of a skinnypig stretching forwards that might be useful to draw &the kind of image you're after, if she doesn't mind u using it?

I have hundreds of photos of the girls on my phone but most of them as u say are napping or playing potato statues! ;)
Will have a proper look for u tomorrow x

^ Thank you for your help!

Here are some more sketches I've been working on. Any photos of a guinea pig stretching would be super helpful!

They're far more interesting than the ones I found- I only found two &they weren't in focus :(

I love a good pig in motion! I have a big folder of some of my fave pictures from around the net and I have this one in there, this should be good for you! I also had a nice gif of a popcorn that you could see where/how all the muscle/limbs move, I can't find it right now but I'll post back if I do.

OMG! I didnt know guineas were that athletic lol!
My little lardy's only do zoomies when they think I'm not looking. They would know to stop as soon as I took the camera out though. Xx

Guys, these are SO helpful! I drew this today, but more drawings are on the way! I haven't been able to find any of these poses online! Also, if anyone wants to post anymore, different angles are also very helpful! Export more sketches soon!

That's my Beans and Toasty :love: your drawings are very good :nod:

One of my piggies Penny pulls all kinds of funny shapes! I thought these might be useful to you. Our other piggy Nell is a little lazier and doesn't like the camera so much. If I get any more interesting ones I'll post them too!
