Hello guys!

We've been getting the boys out every night for laptime and both seem happier now. Miguel with his long hair is fine having no issue with head smoothes whilst munching away, although gets fidgety and explory quite quick so we have been popping him away when this happens. He is less thrilled about smoothes elsewhere but trying to get him used to it for grooming etc.

Tulio has taken to it slower, although today he seemed much more relaxed, after eating his veg seemed happy to lay out. He wasn't frozen, having a look around and making the normal bubbling noises I hear when they are in the cage. Even got a little yawn out of him and was christened! His eyes weren't wide in fear and started to close at a couple points.

However just before I decided to put him back I heard very faint chattering. In my normal panicy ways I'm worried I misinterpreted all previous signs he was enjoying lap time.

Please reassure this needy member if possible! Did he hate it all? Wah!

Sometimes my piggies sort of grind/chatter their teeth as they just move old food around their mouth.
I hope this makes sense.
Maybe it was that, as an angry chatter is usually quite direct and obvious.

Thanks, I hope so. The rest seemed positive, and no rumble precedded the chatter.

My boys do the mild chatter too; I think it's their way of saying "I'm quite relaxed", or a warning that they need the loo. Haven't figured out which in a year of owning them... It sounds like your lap-time is going very positively. Keep up the good work!

I've never had a nap... a little chooken leg here or there and some grooming of themselves and my fingers is the best I can hope for

I've had a couple nips but I'm totally putting that down to having just presented them with food and it's always been when I've just presented a finger haha

Ha yes they can easily get confused! Our girls nibble / pull at our clothes sometimes which we take as a sign they want to go back - usually because they need a wee!

Glad lap time is going well, it's awesome when they have a nap on you. Tia likes to have a tickle round her eyes, she gone in a couple of seconds.

Stamp scream sulk. My girls just want to hide away during lap time. No eating, and no relaxing.

Glad yours are doing so well. How long have you had them?

Our Ghillie is like that, tried it once and she just bolted to the other end of the couch.
Cue me and my other half trying to strategically retrieve her and get her back into the cage, without her making a bolt off the sofa >.<

Two weeks on Friday. To be fair they are both greedy little gremlins so easy to get inside with food!

Cute piggy. Nothing better than when they feel comfortable enough to nap on your lap.

Mine looove food just not during lap time. They will have been with me two weeks on Saturday. Oh well. Patience patience.

If it's an angry chatter could it be that he doesn't like getting picked up to go back or just plain didn't want to go back? It's nice that your two like lap time so much. Belle is very relaxed at lap time. She likes to give my fingers a good lick. I guess I taste nice. No purs yet though, when I get those I will consider my piggy well and truly lap time conquered. Lol!
