Piggie won't clean self

Excellent advice there @furryfriends (TEAS) and very kind of you to offer, rehoming the piggy or piggies with a reputable rescue sounds by far the best solution for anyone who has been struggling with sick guinea pigs and cannot provide vet care :)
 
I’m sorry that your parents won’t let you take the others to the vet. In that case I would strongly advise that you give all your piggies to a rescue, if they have room. I know it’s hard, but it’s not fair on them to not have access to vet care when they need it. It’s a right and in the law. If your parents aren’t willing then I’m afraid you have to do what’s best for the piggies (and the rabbit?), and not you.

If you are on benefits could you try PDSA as mentioned previously?
 
Hmmm what I do to my Guinea pigs when the fur around their anus is wet we just trim the fur around it and just give the area a clean. What i would do is check his teeth to make sure there not unusually long if there long but not sticking out his mouth keep feeding him harder vegetables or get him some gnawing toys. But if your worried I would book an appointment with the vet as he may need their teeth filing. Hope this helps😊
 
Agree with trying the PDSA if your parents qualify. I know with one of my hamsters when I was younger we had to use them as my mum worked in the hoisery trade and my dad had chronic health problems so we were on and off benefits and one time we couldn't afford the vet so used the PDSA. We made a small donation but then I took envelopes through doors on neighbouring streets and went and collected funds for them that way too.

As you are over 16 you can consider a part time job, even if it's just one day at the weekend. I started with a paper round when I was 13 and then worked in a toy shop from 16-18 years old. I did Sundays and then some evenings in the build up to Christmas. It allowed me to have some of my own funds. From 18 I moved on to factory work because the pay was so much better. Your parents might be more inclined to visit the vet if you are earning your own money to pay with

I’m not sure, there is a charity PDSA that will help people on benefits but heard some bad reports about them lately

@Littlepiggie I think you need to calm down a little and be a bit more polite and clear about the situation if you want further advice, you are just one out of 28,000 forum members who we politely advise and enter into discussions with and you can't expect everyone to remember what you have and haven't said, especially when it is not clear and somewhat contradictory. Several forum staff members and advisors have reviewed all your threads and posts and we are all still a little unclear what pets you have and havent got and what is wrong with them and whether or not they are receiving vet care.
If you are in the UK your parents are legally obliged to provide vet care for your pets if you are under 18. Begging them and them not letting you are not really situations that the forum adults can help with- if you have been to the vet please clarify what was said, if you haven't then please see the vet, if your parents wont take the pets to the vet when they need it then they are breaking the law and also breaking the forum rules and this is a case for the RSPCA not something we can discuss here further.

Your dad owning guinea pigs when he was young has nothing to do with whether they are willing to pay for the ones you have now.

Are you parents willing to pay vet care for your current piggies?

They’re not likely to be seen. Book them an appointment when you take your rabbit. Then take them in.

So have your parents agreed to ALL the piggies being seen? Including a check on the one with the broken teeth?

Umm I'm sorry but i just catched up on this thread and this is extremely confusing. One moment you're saying this, the next moment you're saying that. It is very hard to beleive any of this because you are giving very little information, and you sound very unconfident. I recommend you to answer with more information and confidence, so members can have a full veiw of whats happening.

Also, i don't understand why you are including your rabbit. In another thread you made you stated that the rabbit was your aunts, but now you're saying that its yours? And why post a photo of "your" rabbit?

I'm also pretty sure @Siikibam meant that BEFORE you take jasmine to the vet, to make a appointment for the piggies, so you can make sure that the piggies will have an appoinment ready. Sorry if that's not what you meant @Littlepiggie when you said and i quote, "No , but i'm taking my rabbit in but i will take them with me and get them an appointment too . "

I thought that you meant when you're at the vet you will then make an appointment. Usually if you want to make a appointment i would recommend calling them before going there. If you don't book a appointment BEFORE you go there, its very unlikely that ALL your piggies can be checked.

Also as @Siikibam said, please make sure that ALL your piggies are seen to make sure you verify their sex, and check for health issues (The broken tooth, ect) It is important to make sure you know their sex so you don't get extra piggies.

But then you say they will take them, including your rabbit. Did you manage to change their mind? If so, it would have been good to say so. Then everyone would know that they’ll be seen - hopefully this week. And they ALL need to be seen, not just your females. A general health check is never a bad thing.

I won't take them , but i'll book them all apointments when i take jasmine , my parents agreed .
