Hi

I am very sorry. Please have her vet checked as an emergency. It looks like a runaway lump (likely an abscess) to me.

ok. I've contacted vets and they want pictures which I'm sending and yes she defo booked in 5. I'm absolute gutted and struggling and shaking like hell.
She's only 2 and a half and acting like normal . . x

Sending hugs, try not to panic. Hopefully it's something easily sorted x

I know it’s hard but try not to panic (((hugs))) x

Take a deep breath! Lumps can blow up very quickly; it always comes as a nasty shock.

It looks very loose sitting, so if it is an abscess, it can be lanced and drained and dealt with by flushing twice daily with a mild antiseptic like home-made saline solution. ;)

All the best!

Will the vet explain what I do etc.
I not allowed in and take her to car park poor love.

It’s normal practice now to not be allowed to go in. The vet will tell you what you need to do for any care at home. Try to stay calm when you speak with them otherwise you won’t take in what they say to you. I’ve done that many a time - got home and not been able to remember what they said due to worry/panic!

Sending hugs Dave, this is obviously a big worry but try to stay calm so you dont worry Florence, if it swelled up so fast its probably something that can be dealt with... could be an abscess, or swollen lymph nodes or maybe... no experience of this in piggies so dont take my word for it I'm just speculating... a blocked or infected salivary gland? I had one of those myself and it looked like that and it came on in a matter of hours, very scary but easily fixed!
Whatever it is the vet will advise best, sending many hugs and healing wheeks x

vets reception rung.. got photos and will ring again if need Florence earlier once vet looked at them.
