There are some pictures missing or nobody had them when I wrote this guide here: What-breed-are-my-guinea-pig? Picture-guide-to-common-pet-breeds

Ideally I am looking for well lit side on pictures of these breeds here. You can just post them in this thread here and I will copy them across, credited to your username.
- Smooth/American self (all over same colour) that is not white or golden. - Anybody got an all black one?
- Merinos
- Alpaca
- Minipli
- Skinnies @Lorcan ?
- Cuy

For coat colours I am short of:
- silver agouti - black/grey hairs with white tips
- chocolate agouti - brown hair with golden tips
- argente: beige undercoat with coloured tips

Thanks a lot if you can help me fill some gaps.

Emily: smooth black (crested)

I can’t remember if Buttons is an Alpaca or similar breed?:

You didn’t ask for a blonde bombshell of a handsome mixed breed male, but Henry INSISTED I shared his photo too:

Buttons is a texel (of which I have a member picture). Merinos are texels with a coronet crest and alpacas have forward growing hair like perus. The two latter breeds are very specialised; long-haired rough coated rex breeds are very high maintenance and do not feature in pet shop supply breeding groups. These breeds were also very much just a UK thing.

Ah yes she’s a Texel, I remember now! Her coat is rather high maintenance too.
Thanks for the information

Do you want a Ruby eyed cream satin self? I will try to get a picture that shows his glorious satin gleam if you want. View attachment 253303

Hi

When you take a picture, could you please also try to take a second picture of a satin next to a normal piggy to illustrate the difference in the shine? Unfortuntely, recent updates have broken the link and I can't find a copy of the previous comparison picture in my own files.

Try to take a picture in good day light, strong indoors light or direct sunlight for best effect. I would be very grateful since the question 'is my piggy a satin' is one that crops up fairly regularly.
