Overnight neuter procedure

When is his follow up appointment with the vet?
I would definitely contact them if he has some new swelling in the area.
Is he still on antibiotics?

And I probably wouldn't use ice on delicate piggy skin.
Maybe a cool damp wash cloth, but in the case of swelling I would call the vet and ask them.

The vet told me to use icepacks wrapped in a towel and it does seem to have helped with the swelling but I will just tell her that I want a follow up as they did not book one in.

Very glad that he is better but any new swelling needs to be seen by a vet.

You are now coming to the time where abscesses and infections can form most commonly and want to make sure that you act promptly, just in case. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Yes that is what I am worried about I will call the vet today and hopefully she can fit him in this week

Hey everyone, quick update, the vet didn't seem certain about whether or not there was an infection because the wound seems ok apart from the swelling but she gave me an antibiotic to give him for 10 days just in case. So fingers crossed the swelling goes down and he gets fit 100%

Hey everyone, Oreo's wound is looking SOO much better since he has started the antibiotics. Thank you guys for your help he really seems to be doing great now the swolleness has gone away and the wound itself is healing fast now so hopefully soon I will put him back with the others! The vet recommended keeping him apart still due to the setback.

Love this forum! Everyone is always so helpful it has been really useful since adpoting our piggies
