Forever Evan
Junior Guinea Pig
Abraham and Oscar have now been in the same cage together for 2 days. There has been no fighting, very little strutting (but Abe does like to strut his butt!) and just a bit of teeth chattering, all from Abe of course. What concerns me is Oscar will NOT for the life of him come out of his hut. I have been feeding him inside his hut and he's eating and pooing fine, but he will NOT come out of that hut. I fed him his salad this morning while I snuggled with Abe outside of the cage and that has been the only time he came out to eat. I've been putting hay and veggies inside the hut.
I know they are still new to each other and Abe is quite the bully, but I'm worried that Oscar is sad and lonely, or scared and terrified. His face just looks so sad. Is there hope? Will this just take time? When we brought Abe home he and Carmy never had an issue, and I know it's because Camy was very submissive. But this beautiful boy Oscar - I just don't want him to be so sad! He was squeaking and wheeking when we first brought him home, and now only does so very quietly every now and then when I pet him in his hut.
Any advice?
I already adore him and want to do what's best for him.
