Not Supposed To Use Shavings?

all mine were fine until Roxy developed a reaction to them after 8 months and since switching to fleece she's been ok, i can't recommend fleece enough

Can shavings contribute to urine infections even if lm cleaning out every other day?

i think that can happen with every bedding if it isn't cleaned out enough. every other day should be fine cleanliness wise. although i'd imagine bits of shavings could get stuck in boars bits maybe and cause a problem that way. again though, i think that could probably happen with any loose bedding

I used shavings the first year with archie, they got everywhere and caused me respiratory problems (made me sneeze and hard to breathe a bit). It didnt absorb urine well either.

I used shavings all the time years ago for rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters and never had problems but use aubiose now.No dust, ten quid for fifteen kilos.We pick it up in the car ourselfs.
