Hey
Just got my guineas a few days ago and I’m a bit worried about my 5 month old one as he has not moved from the spot he was laying in all day, should I be worried

Have you had chance to check their weight yet? Have they been eating?
What is the temperature in their cage?

No I haven’t had the chance as my scales have been broken and they have been eating a bit and thump is 24degrees

That’s a little on the hot side for them - they prefer to be between 18 and 22. Anything over 25 (and remembering that it’s the temperature inside their hutch which counts as it is likely to be hotter than the air temp) and they risk overheating. If you have them outside, can you move them indoors to cool them down?

I have them inside at night and if it’s a nice day I have them outside but he is being skittish inside as well

I think piggie needs help asap. If ring vets.
Sounds like needs help feeding which vet should explain . . They are great guides on here which could help.

Welcome to the Forum.
A good place to start is by reading through the new owner guides.

Quick Information Bundle For Wannabe Owners

Remember that everything is very new and scary for your guinea pigs right now so please give them time to settle.
A good way to tell if they are moving when you aren't around is to see if there are poops everywhere and if the bedding is messed up.
