Important information for New Owners
- Please do NOT self-diagnose and home treat! You can make any problem easily much worse and end up paying a lot more.
- You are protected by your customer rights for any problems that have come with your guinea pigs if they have been properly diagnosed by a vet in time (see the first link below for how this is handled in the UK and the US).
- Always save up for a vet fund right from the start as part of the regularly living cost, so you can afford to see a vet any time in an emergency or serious illness.
- In the UK you are legally obliged to pay for the pets of any minor in your care; you can be prosecuted for refusing veterinary care to any pet in your household.
