:o Are lola is now Roly!! ?

She is a boar so have booked her in for tomorrow to be castrated as it's horrid hearing them bubbling to each other and moping around as they wanna be together bless them! It is only £30 as well which I think is cheap as have heard about £45.

If Pippin is already pregnant how many babies is she likely to have?

I have also emailed the pet shop as am very angry with them for this mix up.

The Petshop should give you the castration money or a refund on Roly! They will need to be kept apart for 3 weeks afterwards. :)

Size of litter varies - anything from 1 to 8 - average is about 3 to 5. Just try to keep her calm until her time and don't move her around too much. Good luck with the birth and if you're really seriously lucky you'll see them being born - it is the most beautiful experience in the world and you'll feel a much stronger bond with the pups if you see them being born. I always sprinkle some raspberry leaf on the dried food in the week before the birth is expected - this apparently helps with the birth and making the milk afterwards. You can get it from most good herbalists and I believe Galens Garden on the web does it too.

I would also top up on vit c, green peppers are a good source of vit c and 1/8th of a pepper gives a pig enough vit c for one day but if she is pregnant she will need 20mg of vit c which is a quarter of a pepper or perhaps you could give the other 10mg in other veggies.

There is a strong chance she is not pregnant, however you don't know yet and may not know for several weeks, so care for her as if she is for the moment it will do her no harm. :)

Awww sounds amazing didn't really want her to be pregnant but oh well what will be will be and they will all be loved and cared for. :smitten:

What are the chances of her being preg as they only spent a day together?

Have looked into the nuerturing and am so nervous for my guy now tho as he is young, didn't really agree with nurturing but no other option to be honest.

How do I no if she is do I take her to the vets?

Thank you all you have been a god send, if it wasn't for you lot I would never of thought about her being a male x O0

She would have to be in heat, there is a strong possibility she is not pregnant but you never know! I had an accident when my boys Sunshine and Twinkle escaped from their pen, I was unsure if they got at my Sows but I took it that they had and cared for them like they were pregnant. Thankfully I was worrying for nothing, I was concerned because the day before Fleur was in heat!

If she is pregnant she will drink more than usual. I think week 7 you can see babes move at the top of my head.

:)

I wouldn't waste your money at the Vets as sometimes they can't tell either! Just keep a good eye on her. One sure sign of pregnancy is an increase in drinking water and eating food high in water - cucumber especially. You'll know within a couple of wheeks if she is pregnant as she'll start gaining weight rapidly and take on a bit of a pear-shape to her back end! Good luck! I'm sooooooooo excited for you (and jealous!)

pear shaped sounds like me ;D

My hubby is so excited as well, time will tell :D

Hi Roly did look like a baor to me ;D oh and by getting him castrated will not change his attitude towards Pippin - Just thought id tell you that cause he still has hormones and the mind of a boar O0

I'll second that! i have 2 castrated boars and they still hump the girlies constantly! :)

;D good good They have hardly been out today think there are both missing each other :'(

Have rang pets@home and they will pay for the nueturing and cause I had a bit of a go they said if Pippin needs to see a vet as she is preg they will pay for it and provide cages for the babies and food untill they are 6 weeks and then can give them to them! Yeah right :tickedoff: told them no way!

Oh I didn't realise it was P@H they are normally good with giving cages out for pregnant pigs. Glad they are paying for neutering though and still get those cages if Pippin is pregnant!

I was in a store in Liverpool and was talking to a woman who said we have a policy to take in babes that have come from pigs who were sexed wrong! WELL JUST SEX THEM RIGHT THEN! It's not rocket science, they must see lots of pigs come through their doors.

yeah I said to my hubby do you think they do it on purpose so they get the babes back? As I bet the majority of ppl would just give them the babies! No way will I tho.
I only went in there to show my kids the animals and fell in love with lola aka Tucker lol as my son didn't like Roly ;D
