Soooo after months of deliberation we have decided to adopt a baby from our local Blue Cross rescue centre and with their support, we’re going to try and bond him with our 16 month old boy, Eddie.

The new baby is teeny tiny, will only be 6 weeks old when he arrives with us, so we will take it slowly of course. Eddie has been alone since last summer so he’s in dire need of a friend. I am hoping so hard that he takes to the new baby as I want the best for both piggies.

The new boy is named Crumble and I will spam you with photos when he arrives!

Eeeek!

Oh I can’t wait to see Crumble. I’m sure Eddie will be kind. I’ve bonded 3 babies with adults so far and the daddy pigs have always been lovely.

Oh that’s brilliant to hear! I’m a registered volunteer with BC and have fostered pigs but never bonded them. BC have been amazing and have provided a really great plan to follow so I’m going to stick to that as much as I can, unless you have any advice from your experiences which may help as well? X

What exciting news 🎉

Looking forward to spam 😁

Have a read of the forum bonding guides which are really helpful.
As bonding can be stressful for the humans it’s important that you have some stress relief on hand.
I recommend coffee and chocolate

Hope all goes well

Haha! Plenty of coffee and chocolate in this house already so we’re fully prepared! 🤣 The centre have given us a really comprehensive guide to follow to start bonding so I’m committed to following that to get them to be friends. I really do hope they don’t fall out as baby gets older though. I’m so nervous!

Ah that’s so exciting - 🤞is goes well for Crumble and Eddie
As everyone has said it’s more nerve wracking for the owners !
Good luck and we’d love to see photos 🥰
