I hope you did not take my earlier post as crisism, it wasnt, i was trying to help! :) Its always hard when your plonked in a sittuation you dont expect, but the main reason people are saying is because my april/may (when its warm enough for them to go outside again) They wont be ickle babies, they will all be about 15-20 cms long, (my fully grown boars are 23cms long) and when you start putting 4 20 cm long piggies in a cage thats 90 cms long... I'm sure you can see my point here? :)

However, its really great that you can get it extended! :) I'm sure they will love the extra space. :) Perhaps have a look out at your local freecycle to see if theres anything you could use as a run to give them so extra space of an evening when you are home, as they start to get bigger. :)

hi no not at all :) Thank you for the advice and i do have a bit of room there to make it extra big , I'm sure he'll be able to unscrew it and build on it here. he does hutches for a living :)
Jessica

That would be good if you could as it looks like it would get them an extra 1.5 or 2ft more in length-terrible at estimations.

It can be made 2ft and a half longer X so pretty close!

If it helps I had to bring my four fully grown pigs in last year as temperatures were reaching -15. I have no room for an indoor cage so they lived in a large storage box from Ikea for a few months. It wasn't ideal but we managed. They were fine and had plenty of run time even though they had no where near as much room as they did in the 6ft hutch :) Jessie is obviously doing her very best for the piggies and at least they have that nice hutch to move in to once they are bigger :)

HI sweetheart , I'm getting a new carpet soon anyway so I really don't mind but I do have a spare one which i may start to use to keep the floor warmer! :)

yes i do understand that, I think i was feeling stressed that day, so it didnt make me feel that bril, I am sorry if I was a bit snappy, the chap came round to measure up and make a few adjustments to the run when the two boys get removed will be so much better for mum :) and Minky just the one girl.

Hi Jessie, I'm new to the forum, reading this thread I think your Guinea Pigs look great and very well looked after. Good luck with your babies.

My two Guinea Pigs had an eight foot by four foot cage and a twelve foot by twelve foot run complete with with grassy hill and tunnels. I don't for a minute think they were better looked after or happier than a Guinea Pig in a small cage that was loved and cared for. Space is not everything. Myself I think four foot by two foot is too small for 2 guinea pigs and people with under half an acre of garden (small) should not be allowed to keep pets but I fully understand that some people have small gardens and others can't afford huge cages. I don't try to make them feel cruel or negligent.

Sorry but i just want to add that nobody was trying to make her feel cruel but if money is an issue save up and wait for the animal because at the end of they day if your cant provide for the animal - dont get one!

Although I'm glad shes taken on the advice thats been given and the run thats been prepared for them is great, cant wait to see the hutch bigger, the piggies will really appreciate it!

excuse me, i got poppy on the good intention that she was not pregnant, I got her from pets at home and then realized soon after! so that was hardly my fault now was it? ..... and my friend got her for me as a christmas present so i would watch what you say before you know all the facts.
