I don't want to be rude, Jess but a three foot run for four guinea pigs sounds very small to me! The minimum cage size for 2 pigs is 4 feet by 2 feet, and when they come out for exercise they would surely need more space than that, not less. If a 3 foot box is " less cramped", what were they in before?

I aggree with Raven and sorry but that isn't a run it is just a small hutch :/

I am sure that Jessie loves her piggies and is doing the best she can for them. Sometimes the way we put words on forums comes over a bit harsh, and I am sure that is not how you meant it to appear. :ALJFBQ00209070429A:

Do the piggies live in it permenantly?
If so, then I am afraid to say that it is too small. Fine for short periods of time, but not suitable for permenant use. Sorry :(

Hi well they were living in smaller to previous. its 3ft and a half if i want to choose to be picky also I can't put them out side in there 5ft hutch with two stories yet. & poppy just had her babies 2 weeks ago and too young to be outside in this freezing weather. and I can't afford to have another £60.00 and babies were born a few weeks ago and it is very big for them If you don't have anything decent to say then I suggest you don't post it.

Not saying she doesnt love her piggies but people need to be corrected nobody has been harsh to her. If I was doing something wrong for my animals I would want to be told so. Just looking out for the welfare needs of animals :)

I'm afraid I don't need to be corrected, So Untill you hear the reasons why they have that then i suggest you should just keep it to yourself , they are being well looked after thanks very much.

Are all 4 piggies living in that? You can get indoor runs way cheaper than £60. You can use c&c grids which you can get for £30 that can be made into a run not just a cage. A run and a hutch are 2 seperate things. That is not a run I'm just letting you know. Not trying to be nasty or harsh just trying to inform you. I study animals at college and have looked after many, and also have done so many lessons and assignments for welfare, I know what I am talking about.

Can you not Read? as i said there 2 week old babies! very small! I'm not about to spend any more money.! Thanks anyway!

Is it 3ft by 3 ft? because thats 9ft of space, while obviously not ideal, considering they are still babies and presumably going back outside when the weather gets warmer thats not so bad.

However i agree, as this is an animal loving community people are going to point out if things could be improved. Not least because sometimes people genuinly dont know that it needed improving. :)

Hi no its not 3ft by 3ft! I improved on an 80 flareplast! that was smaller than that!

I take back my last post, apologies.
I had assumed that they were all full grown, and that is why I thought it was too small.
Great to hear that they have a big home outside, and its a good idea to keep them inside during this weather. I'm sure they'd rather be ever so slightly cramped than outside in the cold! :))

Hi Yes they do and cost an arm and a leg! It's only till we get the warm weather back on ourside! and I take out the hide hole so they can play it's just until they are fully grown X

this is there's it has a ladder to go to the bottom!

Jessie your choosing to ignore what people say when all they are doing is trying to help you give your guinea pigs what they need. Baby guinea pigs still like to run around so they can popcorn. That is not big enough for 4 baby guinea pigs.

HOWEVER

do you give them daily floor time so they can run about? As I said you can get indoor runs dirt cheap.

they popcorn in the new run which is higher than it looks in the picture they used to live in this

and wanted to get them something bigger not ignoring it I have already bought them a new one.

they popcorn very happily X

Lovely big hutch for them. I bet they'll be pleased with all that space!
Although your indoor run is not ideal, it will be fine until the weather gets nicer. As long as they get lots of time out of the cage to let off some energy (baby piggies can be so energetic! :)) ) then it'll have to do for now.
X

Compared to what they lived in before.

wow they are so cute, might have to do a bit of piggie kidnapping...x

You are ignoring it as you have not answered a single question I have put and its not hight they need its floor space.

Do you have a run for them because a 3ft hutch is not significant space, I have a vivarium of the same size and its not very big. (just a not the viv is not for guinea pigs lol)

Also its not much bigger is it because you say its 3ft and your last one was 80cm
3ft=90cm

Just get them a run so they can get some exercise and run about you will see them popcorn tons more and they need more than 1 hide, hides take up a lot of space :)

posted the last before the pic and yeah your hutch (not a run) is a fair bit bigger than the cage, them cages are unbelievably small!

Hi I wasn't being rude, but I guess I can see your point of view It's lucky that I have not paid for it yet! I'll pop round and see him tomorrow and make it a bit longer so it goes to my wall :) if you can see what i mean by the Picture I'll just say sorry I made a mistake it needs to be longer if possible! X

yes they are and was getting so cramped! X

Hi Jessie, no-one meant to be unkind, glad to know you are doing your best for your babies and if you learn half as much as I have from this forum, they will have a great life!

Yes I guessed that! I was just being protective myself! But i think he can unscrew at the back as i have a bit more space for them and also I can have stuff on top then to make it look pretty :)

Sorry If i got a bit upset.

Great to hear that you're looking into making it bigger! I'm sure they'll apreciate the extra space. And then you can use it if you ever need to take them inside in the future!

That would be good if you could as it looks like it would get them an extra 1.5 or 2ft more in length-terrible at estimations.
