Anyone else heard of The Pet Hut. They're opening stores around the country & the good thing is, they don't sell animals. In my area they've just opened stores at Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland & Sunderland. They're part of The Pound Stretcher group so should be competitively priced. We have one in the new poundstretcher here in Leicester. I didn't rate it. It will be great for anyone with dogs, cats or birds. They didn't have any bags of hay at all and only a very small pack of woodshavings. A real shame as the Pet Hut part of the store is quite large and they had plenty to choose from for various dog items.
 
That's a shame. Maybe they'll take notice if a lot of us mention this on their facebook pace.
 
They sound quite good, as for not selling hay it's probably because they're just coming on the market and probably haven’t got all of their suppliers in place or something like that.

I was thinking similar Falken, it could also just be the Leicester store as its the first poundstretcher we've had in a few years since the last one closed. Would be interested in knowing whether other stores have better stock for piggies and then I can let them know that I would like the option in the Leicester store as it could just be them determining demand of products.
 
Thank you for letting us know about this. I much prefer to buy my supplies from places that don't sell live pets. Unfortunately, there isn't a branch of The Pet |Hut near me . I get my hay and bedding from a local equine supplies and most of my smaller items from Wilko, Kennelgate or a local pet supplies shop which is well worth a look at if you live in Sheffield or are ever in the vicinity .

My large poundstretcher has just reorganised and has a large pet hut section. Like others have said, it doesn't have much of a small furry stock apart from a good selection of hamster stuff. Hopefully it'll start stocking large bales of hay and shavings.

Yes, if we all do that we may at last have a pet store to shake up PaH.
 
I'm bumping up an old thread to say that a Pet Hut is opening in Glenrothes, Fife soon. I will give more updates once I've been inside.
 
Need to make a trip there ourselves... xx
