Now I just wait! I'm so excited.

My 3 piggies are having a 5x2 c&c (upgrade from their current 150cm). Half will be Fitch with their hay for foraging, plus their 'messy' toys & chews, the other half will be lined with fleece liners & cosies for them :D

The cage will be on a stand, half will be for storage & the other will be converted into a 3x2 c&c for my bunny (Netherland Dwarf), filled with Fitch. She has run of the room too so hopefully she'll be happy with that. It's a slight downgrade from her 120cm, but she only uses half of that to toilet in! Lol.

All my other pets will, hopefully, benefit from the Fitch as well, making us a woodshaving free household!

So far my fleece has arrived so today I'll be making my cosies. Hoping to put them on my website too to sell & cage liners too! I can't wait to see what they all think.

The cage isn't coming until next week though :( & the Fitch says it's shipped, but I'm not sure when it'll be delivered :( Hate waiting! Lol

Fantastic. I think you may find the 3x2 bigger than a 120 shop cage. Shop cages are usually narrower so you should have a happy bunny x

Quick update.. We are currently dismantling the animal room! There is so much dust from the wood shavings! Even though it's dust extracted! Disgusting. So glad I won't have to deal with it soon!

I didn't think about the size of the c&c going back! I know it's slightly smaller in length but she'll be fine with that. It's just a litter tray to her.

All the animals are out now.. Piggies are in the bedroom & gerbils and hamster are in the bathroom (for now) while we paint. So excited :D

The new cage is up & the piggies are so happy! Took them a few hours to get used to the new look & feel of the cage, but now they're back to their normal cheeky selves! My bunny is happy too, she loves her C&C cage with the fitch :D She now has better space to run about in as well. The cages before weren't making the most of the spave available, this is a much better set up! (The light blue walls help brighten the place up too!)

Here are the photos.. Hope they work!

Guinea pigs on top, Bunny in the bottom. I took that extra pannel on the bottom off, it didn't need it in the end :D

Piggies with their fleece & fitch cage :D They weren't sure about the fleece to begin with, but now they love it! I've made them a few little bits now, just made them a cute tunnel this morning <3

Marble loves the snugs the most! She has claimed this one as her own :D

looks a great set up, lovely photo of Marble in her cosy

Does the Fitch stick to the fleece at all like shavings do? I am intrigued by Fitch I must admit

I'm intrigued too :) The whole cage looks great ;) I am tempted to try Fitch after seeing this :) Does it get very wet though?

Not nearly as much as woodshavings do, it's bigger & has no dust so when it goes on the fleece, it's easy to just pick it up :) I've found it so much easier to clean up off the floor when Daphne (my bun) kicks it out of her cage, so much easier than woodshavings! It's very similar to Carefresh, but completely dust-free.. I found Carefresh to be very dusty, especially with the gerbils :( And expensive too! £20 for a '60L' bag, compared to under £18 for a 20KG bag of fitch! Lol. I adore it already <3

Thanks :) Where did you order it from?

Sorry Poppy'sMum, only just saw your comment! It's not wet at all where they've wee'd, it's very absorbent. It does show where they've wee'd slightly (you only really notice if you're looking), but that makes spot cleaning easy :) The good news is, they use the fitch for most of their weeing and pooping cos they're fed on there, so that leaves their fleece for lounging around :D

I've given the piggies, the gerbils and one of my bunnies the fitch now & they are all really happy on it! I am so pleased at the fact that there's no dust! And Marble has stopped sneezing completely since moving them over <3

I was surprised at the little amount I needed to cover the base of the cages. Normally, with woodshavings, I have to put a relatively thick layer in but with the fitch, I could put in a rather thin layer & it's doing really well! I hope you let me know if you try it :D My piggies couldn't be happier with it!

I ordered a bag of fitch yesterday to try, I cant wait till it arrives.

I've only had my piggies for a week and have been using fleece but I'm not keen on the spot cleaning 3/4 times a day (it just looks dirty every time they poo), I had some carefresh so put that in last night, they spent all evening popcorning around so they definitely approved:clap:

Wow! We have a 2x7 c&c,that I'd want to fill with Fitch fully as i hate fleece. I think I will give it a trial and see. Keep hearing so many good reviews on it.
I'm interested in this one too. Is it possible to add fitch to the bedding section on here? Would love to hear how you all get on with it

I ordered fitch recently for the hamsters and I am a convert. They were previously on megazorb. They love it and the little robos gathered every last bit up and made a mega nest.

Love your new set up.

How are you getting on with the Fitch? I'm really happy with the half & half cos they don't do too many poops on the fleece. Hehe. Just did a spot clean yesterday & it was so much easier than woodshavings.. Wich would just end up being a mess after 3 days :/

Aw, that's great to hear Helen! My little hamster is on the leftover Carefresh atm, I think he likes that it's softer than the shavings. x

It hasnt arrived yet but I'll let you know how I get on.

That looks great! I bet they love their new cage :) I've also been thinking about fitch and all these comments sound really positive!

That also looks like a really snug little base for your bunny :) Does Daphne have a friend? Rabbits just like piggies, really love a friend of their own :)

She doesn't have a friend at the moment, no. She was rescued from pets at home & is a special needs bunny with no front teeth. I was hoping she would get on with my other rabbit, Niles, who lost his friend (Frasier) last year. We tried them a month or so ago & it was a no go :( Niles attacked Daphne & then she was having trouble grooming, developed a urine infection & poor thing is just feeling herself again. Bless her. Because she has difficulty grooming though, I did wonder if Niles attacked her because of the smell of her scent glands. Anyway.. She's not got a friend at the moment, but I do keep her occupied so it doesn't seem to bother her too much :)

I've got to do my first clean out today! The fleece & Fitch has lasted wonderfully. I only did a spot clean & I've swept the fleece. Thankfully, they don't do much of their business on the fleece so it's lasted a good week! Now I need to wash it though & I'm not sure of the best way. I've been looking up horsewear wash bags, but they're all online & I could do with it today! I've heard some people use things like pillows and duvets, but I worry they'd just come undone.

Anyway, I've got a busy day of making liners, snugs and cuddle cups today! & then I need to measure a sphynx cat for a jumper.. but that's another story for another day! Hehe x

Aww bless her x It's sad they didn't get along but you're doing the best for her. :) Well done for rescuing her! :tu:

It's quite encouraging to hear they didn't do anything on the fleece as I was quite interested by your fleece/fitch :)

Thank you :) I was really upset when they didn't get on. The first time Niles went at her, it seemed normal for bonding.. But he got more aggressive & I had to separate them. It's such a shame cos he's on his own as well. He's just so grumpy! Typical nethie. He has long term respiratory problems too (I bought him from pets at home almost 6 yes ago before I knew better), so I can't take him to rescues etc as our vet advised against vaccinating! As much as I love my bunnies, I do find them so stressful and heartbreaking sometimes! Guinea pigs seem easier somehow.. I'm not sure why, they require just as much care.. Maybe it's just my piggies are easier than my bunnies. Lol. I get so stressed in the summer because of myxo & VHD. So thankful I don't need to worry about that with the pigs!

They've been fab on the fleece & absolutely love it! I was surprised at how well it held out & it wasn't wet at all! I don't think id ever be able to go fleece full time, but the piggies seem to like their set up now :)

This looks great. I think I have considered every available bedding and am now looking into fitch! How are you getting on with your fitch? Would you recommend? Are fitch and carefresh the same thing?

Also those of you who are using fitch, do you still use newspaper/puppy pads underneath as you would with hay, shavings, etc. Thanks :)

Feeewwww not just me thank goodness thought I was going crazy....dust extracted wood shavings it's far from dust extracted seems more like dust added to me....my poor boys all three are always scratching, sneezing shaking their bodies and after the all the treatment they have had they can not be scratching due to mites etc.
