My special boy Kevin crossed the bridge of rainbows this morning , his passing was peaceful. He snuggled in with my daughter and I, and felt safe and comfortable as he passed away.

My heart feels broken. I will miss him dearly . I struggle deeply with pet loss, and I know Kevin’s passing is going to be a hard slog to get through .

This forum has been a great support to me over the last few weeks so thanks to everyone who offered me support or advice x x

I am so sorry that Kevin has lost his battle but glad that he could leave carried by the wings of your love just as much as he has been cherished all his life with you. He couldn't have found a better home and family - and a happier piggy life.

He will stay alive in your heart and your precious memories and he will forever remain a part of you because as you have shaped his life, he has shaped who you are during the time together.

Be kind with yourself and try to give yourself the emotional space to grieve and to not be OK for a little while.

Grieving is a very painful and tough process but it is during the dark times that we grow our own roots deeper into the ground and when we mature as personalities to emerge into the light again stronger in ourselves and with more understanding for others. It is not just a totally negative thing even though it is one of the hardest processes we can go through.

PS: We do provide ongoing community support during your grieving process in our new End of Life and Bereavement Support Corner for as long as you wish. We've done that before but we have now got a dedicated place for it since our big forum revamp a couple of weeks ago.
