At that age social interaction comes before the need to quarantine and ‘protect’ your current piggy. I would set up for bonding today to be honest. He really is too young. Did you double check the sex?
With regards letting him settle in, I usually recommend you leave them for a week. That means don’t pick up or try to hand feed etc. You can still clean them out though.
hold on, so how could I bond them if I can’t handle them for a week? I thought 24 hours was bad. Nope she justput him in a box andtold me to leave him for 24 hours and plus I’m at work so can’t do it today.
When I say handling I mean picking up to weigh, lap time, nail trimming and things like that. But for bonding it would of course be essential to handle him. Is he next to tour other piggy or elsewhere in a box? That’s quite cruel (not on your part mind, you were doing as advised). Where did you get him from?
Okay. When can you do the bonding? And in the meantime can you put his cage next to your other boy? You can also cover it with a blanket so he feels safer.
