My Piggie Duo!

They’ve also said to leave him alone for 24 hours, is this correct? I’m guessing so.
 
At that age social interaction comes before the need to quarantine and ‘protect’ your current piggy. I would set up for bonding today to be honest. He really is too young. Did you double check the sex?

With regards letting him settle in, I usually recommend you leave them for a week. That means don’t pick up or try to hand feed etc. You can still clean them out though.

hold on, so how could I bond them if I can’t handle them for a week? I thought 24 hours was bad. Nope she justput him in a box andtold me to leave him for 24 hours and plus I’m at work so can’t do it today.

All of that has to be put aside in favour of essential social needs of young piggies. You must handle him as he must be bonded with another piggy straight away as he is too young to be alone. You don’t do a two week quarantine on youngsters - you just have to take the risk of spreading illnesses to current piggies and treat them both if they become ill.
 
When I say handling I mean picking up to weigh, lap time, nail trimming and things like that. But for bonding it would of course be essential to handle him. Is he next to tour other piggy or elsewhere in a box? That’s quite cruel (not on your part mind, you were doing as advised). Where did you get him from?

He’s in another cage, inside his bed. I think, that’s what he last was when I saw him at half four.

Okay. When can you do the bonding? And in the meantime can you put his cage next to your other boy? You can also cover it with a blanket so he feels safer.

Aw, they are both absolutely gorgeous 💕 He’s tiny now but it won’t be for long. My two boys were 220 and 218 gms when I got them at 4 weeks old (I’m not entirely sure if they were 4 weeks tbh) but they both grew To 1350 gms and Ted got to 1400 gms at one stage, he was a bit fat though
Have you thought of a name for the little chap, he is stunning x
 
Well he’s 342g at the age of 8 weeks. And yes I have! I’ve named him Albion. Like Al-Bee-Un.
It means white land and also it’s from merlin and Arthur which I love, I believe it’s a unique name in which I was after 🥰
 
So, another update, only had him two days ish and he’s already wheeking his little lungs away, he’s even taking food from me at only have him three days! He’s a little cutie for sure!
 
Just thought I’d let everyone know, Sadly Stan has died tonight at 12.12am. He died the same way as Ollie. But he was in my arms. He was fine this morning. But anyway. He’s died. My baby who I had the longest. I’m so heartbroken.

He died enfolded in your love and couldn’t have had a better life.

Hi everyone long time no see! I’m back with another new addition! Meet (insert name) I have no name yet for him! These are the only photos I have of him because man, he’s fast!

What a gorgeous golden agouti (colour & breed as mentioned in your other thread). My RB piggie Peanut was a lemon agouti (in my avatar pic). Agouti shading is my favourite coat.
