My parents don't understand why my guinea pigs need a bigger cage!

Of course we will but remember it can be hard to sex them when they are just born. How big are you going to make their c and c cage? Mine is six by three for my five. Are your babies on fleece?

Yes, I will probably wait a week to try and sex them. I will be making the girls cage a 4x4 or a 4x3. They are on a fluffy type of pet bedding, but I AM considering fleece.

Is the fluffy bedding carefresh? I used that but found it expensive. I love fleece. You have to change it every three days and I do a poop collection three times a day but they love it.

Yes, it is carefresh! I think I may switch to fleece, but I'm not too sure. If I get it, should I buy a couple sheets so I can put one or two in their cage, and have an extra(or 2 extras) so that while the first ones are washing, the others are their for them? And then keep switching them?

My mother just got home, and guess what!

She says yes! (: WOO! ♥ Hehe, we'll be off to pick up the supplies in a bit, and then I'll show you when its done(:

It is hard for me to tell you as you are in America. I get mine from Primark for £2.50.

Congrats! Glad your mom allowed you to get a bigger cage. Since you have babies, don't forget to babyproof. The space in the grids are too big for babies and they can get stuck between them.

For price of fleece, if you have Ikea near you, you can get a big fleece blanket for $2.99. Joann Fabrics also have sales going on. You can get a yard of fleece for around $5 - $7 per yard. For a 3x4 cage, you would need about 1 and a half yard.

Oh my goodness! After 8 hours of buying supplies, putting the cage together, going to buy more supplies, rearranging my room, fixing the vaccuum, and putting the rest of the cage together(I still have some things to put back in my room that are in the hallway :P ), it's finally done! (:

Where are the photos!

Sorry! Here's one (: Be aware that I have to yet put the bedding and toys and hideys and food and stuff in!

Chloed- Thanks! (: It took a lot of time and effort, but the piggies seem happy (:

Piggyfan- Thanks! (: I actually just put some blankets down for now until we can purchase the fleece or bedding (Not sure which one yet).... we purchased some bedding, but it turned out to be not enough :P Here's a pigture of them enjoying their new home!

Well done - I wish my daughter was more like you - tell your mom from me she should be really proud of you - my 13yr old daughter was not responsible or mature enough to look after the guineas so they are now MINE - (with a new boar and another sow on the way as well) - Dont forget to put a little money away in a jar every week towards any vets bills - or look into guinea pig insurance.

xxrolleyes
