Hi, I'm new to this forum and to Guinea Pigs. About a month ago we bought two female guinea pigs about 6 weeks old. They are named Kwan and Yin. I don't know what breeds they are but they are two different types. Yin, the one with a black eye, is the boss and is very active....she also sings all the time. She sounds just like a bird singing. I've read we are very lucky to have a singing guinea pig. Kwan, the all white one, is very still and quiet.
Both eat a lot, are very clean and jump about their cage and they seem to be quite attached one to the other.
Neither likes to leave her cage however. When picked up and petted they will both purr but they do not like to be taken out. If put on the floor with the cage door open they will both run back inside as quickly as possible.
Is there something to be done to make them more excited about play time out of the cage...have we done something wrong or do some guinea pigs just not like to be in open areas?
Thanks all.
