Try a different supermarket , my boar has stopped eating as much red bell peppers, he gets bored of it. Try feeding some coriandor to replace the vit c shes not getting from the pepper

How funny, all my 5 pigs have suddenly gone off bell pepper too! I was baffled about 3 days ago when they started turning their nose up at it. They’ve eaten it with gusto for about 3 years!

Hmm some kind of conspiracy going on here... :yikes:

My piggies have done that where they are bored of a veggie and then the next week or two I give it to them again and they love it. Oh piggies...🤣

:agr: I’m convinced piggy’s only like certain veg from certain supermarkets.

I agree, mine also go off their favourite veg from time to time (peppers and cucumber). Pepper's out at the moment. I suspect it's something to do with growing conditions, how it is stored and when veg is imported, this will affect the taste. I saw a report last year that some of our apples are a year old when they reach the shops, can't be many vitamins left in them!

:agr: My boys who are 16 weeks old favourite foods are round lettuce and baby leaf lettuce ( they wont eat any other type ) cucumber, peppers and celery for a treat bananas and carrots. They are also very picky eaters as ive tried them with broccoli, butternut squash, turnip, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, spinach, cauliflower leaves, mange tout and sugar snap peas which are all supposed to be piggies favourites but my boys just turned their noses up at these. They have also stopped eating as much pepper as they used too as well so now I'm thinking it might be to do with the growing season they are currently enjoying coriander as a replacement.

Such spoilt boys they are probably more spoiled than my 8 year old daughter :lol!:

My two really don't tend to be fussy (other than with pellets!) but they've been funny with their red pepper the last few days too! Not like them to leave a morsel of veg, esp pepper. How strange :hmm:

bell pepper are my piggies' fav and I get them a different color every time it runs out so they won't get bored of the taste 😜

Ours go through phases also on pepper, sometimes it is adored sometimes not... maybe give them a break off it for a few days or so before reintroducing it

Your brave trying asparagus, stinky piggy’s 😷

I cut the peppers into a different shape when my 2 look like they are going of peppers, that somehow will renew there appetite for them, gullible little creatures. Then I will buy a different colour pepper once the ones we are using run out, usually red as yellow is ridiculously expensive here.

I always kept my veg in rotation, they seemed to go off stuff if i fed it too much.

It’s a seasonal thing. Green peppers are firmer at the moment and they’ll eat those right now but the reds and yellows are older (red and yellow peppers start off green, then as they mature they get colour and more sugar content that’s why they are sweeter) tomatoes don’t have much flavour either at the moment

In nature peppers are ripe in about August, they are relative fresh from May ish because of commercial greenhouses in Holland and Spain etc (if you’re in the UK), the current batch is unnaturally forced right now. Bit like eating parsnips in summer not tasting like anything as parsnips are a November veg.

Mine go on and off treats... I think they get bored. I try to mix it up nightly to give them some variety. Though it is funny to see them run excitedly out of the cage only to wander back momentarily because it's lettuce/cucumbers AGAIN!

Mine at the moment search for baby corn, they love this but I only give one piece chopped up once a day until the pack runs out. I’m sure they sulk if it’s not there :hb:

Mine are off peppers at the moment. But back on spring greens, which they wouldn't touch for ages.

Mine love pepper and cucumber They are the most favourite veg and the ones looked for first .:yikes::yikes: THERE WAS NO CUCUMBER IN SAINSBURYS THIS MORNING!:yikes::yikes: I'm going to have sulky piggies tonight. They will have to go without until I can get to Asda tomorrow. I'm not a very good slave today.:soz:

Some of my pigs decide they don't like something now and again. Thankfully, Tickles and Frolic are very good eaters. They'll happily snatch anything I offer them. This usually caused my picky eaters to change their minds.

You do a fantastic job, can’t you replace with a sprig of basil as an extra scrumptious treat?

NO CUCUMBERS?!?! The guinea pig union will be informed immediately! They can consider this lamentable case alongside the one Tallulah will write another strongly worded letter about later- we only have a floppy romaine lettuce and some peppers for dinner tonight because all the coriander and bistro salad was eaten over the weekend... we are bad bad piggy slaves!
