Hi, I've had a room ha he today and moved all my room around including him I also just moved him into shavings in his litter tray and he was making a weird monkey like sound when I was feeding him a pea flake when I then finished I listened to some music and he just did it louder I went to feed him a pea flake a minute ago and whenever he moved his head the sound happened what is wrong ?!!

Sorry - the sounds you've described is not immediately identifiable to me from the description. Here is a link to a site with guinea Pig sounds. See if you can identify the sound from the site. Guinea Pig Sounds

Another thing to do would be to video him and upload the video so we can see and hear him.

A video would be great :D Perhaps the sound is made by his breathing? Especially as you've added woodshavings to his poopie tray, they can be a little dusty :3

I think what you are describing is hooting, sounds like a "ooo ooo" noise. The reason he is doing it when moving as its probably when he's sniffing.

Is he normally on wood shavings? They can aggravate the breathing but it wouldn't be instant.

Please have him checked tomorrow by a piggy savvy vet for any signs of a chest infection.

All The best x

Turns out it must've just been the shavings he hasn't done it since xx

I THINK I know the noise you mean.... my boar does something similar to what you describe, and it is a respiratory thing. Usually from inhaling too much dust from hay. He sneezes/coughs and it stops for a while.

Keep an eye on it, incase it gets worse, as it could potentially be a sign of infection. In my boar's case it isn't.... my vet checked him over, and just said to make sure I use dust-extracted hay, and towels or fleece for bedding.

He had a drink and it stopped It was because of his wood shavings I'll be moving g him back onto wood based pellets ❤️
