I wasn't looking and thought my guinea was finishing up a cucumber slice I gave him, but in reality, he found a Hershey's kiss! I realized when I heard the wrapping crinkle. He only got a small bite out of it but still, what will happen? What do I do?

Hi!

Take a deep breath. With just a tiny nibble there shouldn't be a problem.
See a vet promptly if your piggy is suddenly looking off/not right in the next 24 hours.

Piggies are always eating things they shouldn’t. Just keep an eye on him as Wiebke says.

Thanks for the advice, she's doing just fine!
(Yes I know I said he, him etc. just a mistake, she's a female!)

What are the names of your girls?
Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with your introduction thread.

Welcome by the way.

Are the names of your girls Bear and Smores? I see your introduction thread now. Those are their names.

Sorry but they kind of sound like boy names?

Kind of, but Bear is fluffy and reminded me of a bear, Smores, well, has the same colors as a smore. Thought they were good names, also... heh, used to think they were males...

Lol I’ve been there regarding mixing up gender. My first guinea pig actually turned out to be a girl and not a boy as I had been told, found out about 2 weeks before she died. Whenever I talk about her or think about her, I use he automatically. Even though he was technically a girl, I had always known her as a he and so I never really even consider her to have been a female. You’ll get used to calling them girls in time, it’ll just take a while :)
