A week ago today, my precious old boy passed away.
(When he was a spritely 6 month old!)
He had been on med's for arthritis for 12 months and also had mild kidney failure. He was 6 & 8 months old, and had spent the last month of his life living in my room with me as he was to frail to be with his two younger companions. He was so sweet and still full of life, and the evening he passed he had a bath and was chatting away, wrapped in a towel and eating some food when he just went all limp and drifted off.
(On his 5th birthday with his brother Pirate)
I'm missing him so much, he was bit a grumpy old so and so! And never the friendliest of piggies until his last few weeks, but he was a fantastic companion to his brother Pirate (who i lost a year ago) when he was sick and so protective of him, he was also very patient with the two younger boys he was bonded with after Pirates passing. In short he was a piggies pig.
We buried him this afternoon as our ground has only just become soft enough! He and Pirate were the first Guinea Pigs that i had had as my "own" and they both taught me so much about Piggies and sort of started off my passion for them, it all feels very final
(With his 2 most recent buddies Finn & Blake)
RIP my special boy.
