Hello everyone,

I haven't been around for quite awhile now due to a very very clingy baby :)

Anyway, we lost my gorgeous Jessie a week ago now, she had surgery to remove a lump that had formed under her chin but sadly it turned out to be cancerous and she passed away a week after us finding out.

This is my gorgeous Jessie.

During this time we also have our Vanessa, my gorgeous tri coloured who we got on the 18th Feb. She is currently indoors as she has a very mild case of runner lice which are being treated. She has not under any circumstances showed any signs of pregnancy, her weight has been steady she hasn't been drinking more, there has been no signs at all! And yet yesterday i found this little creature running around!

Mum and baby are doing fine, baby is a little girl weighing a healthy 105g, we have named her peeka as she was peeking up through the hay :)

Isn't she the spit of Jessie though? I couldn't be happier x

Aaaawwww, what a cute little baby piggie! That's quite spooky how similar she is to Jessie! I am guessing that you will be keeping Peeka?

AWWWW - it was definitely meant to be! What a little cutie!

I am ever so sorry for your loss!
You are most welcome to post a tribute to Jessica in our Rainbow Bridge section if and whenever it feels right right for you.

Single babies cannot show and the weight gain even at the very end of a single pup pregnancy is only about 30g/1 oz in the last week.

Here are our tips for baby care:

I had a rather similar experience with my own unexpected miracle baby Tegan Syndod (Welsh for "Beautiful Surprise"). She was another no-show single surprise baby that was born only three months after I lost my previous "baby" Telyn (baby name Tegan) to sudden acute heart failure only days after her second birthday. I was still suffering from very physical cravings for holding Telyn again when I found newly born Tegan one morning only 10 days after I had adopted her mum and auntie; she managed to fool both a very experienced rescue lady and me - her dad was a supposedly safe over 5 weeks post neutering boar at the rescue.

In an eerie blast of the past, I had adopted Tegan's stuck-in-rescue mum because she reminded me of our first family piggy from the seventies while Tegan herself has more than a passing resemblance to my first own piggy back in the eighties. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful surprise though, sounds like it was meant to be.

So sorry for the loss of Jessie.

What a little surprise though! A gorgeous one at that!

What a beautiful surprise. I agree with Wiebke - it was meant to be .

What a shocking suprise. They do look so similar! Even the ears are the same!

How bitter sweet.
