When he was at 996 grams, Stripe was prescribed.33 ml dog metacam for life for CBS.

He's at 1026 grams now, should I call the vet to ask for a new dosage?

I hate calling because they get annoyed because in the past I called a lot.

Do you feel pain meds are keeping him comfortable at his current dose?
If yes, then he doesn’t need his meds increased just because he is a little bit heavier.

Hi

No, you do not have to up the dosage for a minimal weight gain. You may want to ask your vet to adjust if the weight comes up to 100g more.

The difference in weight is basically just the difference between a full and an empty stomach is still within the 30-40g weight swing over the course of 24 hours. We do not count this as weight gain (or loss, if it is in the other direction). ;)

Apart from when he had his two ear infections, I don't think he's ever been in pain. My vet has never treated a CBS pig but she read daily metacam is a standard treatment. I think it's just a precaution.

He zooms, popcorns, wheeks and seems happy.

He's also getting a new cage after my vacation!
