Meet Faradi

Thank you @sport_billy and yes the vet already mentioned that Metacam will be prescribed. I practised syringing water a couple of times with Ohmi, so the Metacam should go down fine. I've also washed all my spare fleece and towels to be able to change Ohmi's bedding daily to keep him as clean as possible. Oh and I have a stock of Recovery formula just in case he needs it. I'm also preparing a lunch box of veggies, pellets and hay to go with him to the vet's.

Sounds like you are all prepared. the wait is the hardest part. Metacam will go down a treat... they are like little junkies on the stuff... So easy to medicate so no stress there

Good for you Ohmi! Show them all what you've got while you still can! Good luck @Powerpigs. I've just dropped off Christian now feel like a nervous wreck. Got to phone at 2pm to see how it all went.

Ohmi decided to show off his plums for the last time. Wish him luck, we are just about to leave to the clinic!

:lol!:
Best of luck to Ohmi for the op. The end result will be worth it for him in 6 weeks!
Faradi is a beauty. I guess she is in keeping with your theme, named after Michael Faraday?

Edit: we must have posted at the same time! Healing vibes for a speedy recovery!

You have guessed right, Faradi translates to Farad as in the unit of capacitance which indeed comes from Faraday I think :) Now we have two units of impedance then, Ohmi as ohm and Faradi as farad. Engineering humor at its best :))

Thank you all for your well wishes, I'll tell them all to Ohmi when I see him!

We are home with Ohmi! Poor thing is a bit confused still, but he managed to crawl to the usual corner where I keep hay from his hidey where I placed him, even though I had laid hay and treats in front of his nose already. He even ate a bit of hay by himself. He had already eaten a bit at the vet's and he had also been fed a bit of recovery mix by the nurse.

Oh wow, she is a stunner!
Ohmi will be one lucky chap once he is ready :)x

Ohmi was a bit off the whole evening yesterday, but this morning he was at least almost back to his normal self! He begged for veggies as usual, but in the end he seemed more interested in hay than the veggies I gave him. I put in a fresh serving of hay for him, and he parked himself right in it! I also saw Ohmi drinking from his bottle and eating pellets. Here you can see both piggies, the fact that Ohmi chooses to lay next to the wall dividing him and Faradi is heart-warming

Just sharing some new pictures of Faradi :) She is still shy, but I managed to sneak in for these!

Ohmi is recovering very well from his op. He's not interested in his stiches at all, the area looks normal and clean. Ohmi doesn't show having any pain either, his Metacam course is due to end tomorrow.
