Sorry to be so graphic, but that's the problem... if it is a problem.

I am not sure which of the two male guinea pigs has gone from having normal size poos to huge poos in a few days. I try to be vigilant, but I am sick with flu at the moment, and although they get the necessary, water, hay, food, veg, clean.. I am not going close to them. To be honest I couldn't even if I wanted to, as I am quite poorly, but I don't want to pass anything on if that's possible.
This also means that visit to vet is out of the question for a few days unless absolutely necessary (I could send someone else in case of emergency).

So I though I would ask you what can cause the change. All my guinea pigs poo the same size. Any ideas? (There has been no change in food, hay or water.)

Are they both the same age? Some of my boars do quite big droppings, the larger poo looks perfectly normal to me.

my piggies do varying sized poo's and one of them does quite big ones... not sure who it is though... have a feeling its Peter

Sorry it would help if I put something on about your situation mallethead the poo looks normal and well formed, normal colour etc. If the poo's are becoming a lot softer or the piggies are not eating as well as normal or drinking more than normal etc etc then I would suggest a vets visit but this doesn't look out of the ordinary for me

Thanks. No, there has been no change in water intake or eating food. The two boys are dad and son, so there is an age difference. It was just the change in size rather than the difference between them, that worried me. I think it is dad. I have just weighed him, and he has lost 70 gr in 2 weeks. I will monitor his weight over the next few days and take it from there. Thank you.

My older boar does the smaller type poops but my little one does longer ones and likes to stack them in little piles of 2 or 3 or even 4 at a time lol

My younger boar is the one who does the massive poos, but then he never stops eating! :(|)
Looks perfectly okay as far as poos go, a long as it's not super squishy. :{
Of course you know what we're all going to say, if you're at all worried, you should go to the vets.

Yep, my Bumble does massive bent banans-c

I have never seen droppings as big as my Daltons. They are huge!:{ After Cyrus was neutered his droppings halved in size which is apparently normal....My girls have always had much smaller poops than my boys, but Daltons......Massive!!

Yes, I have varying poo sizes in my herd too. I think it must be something to do with the size and shape of their intestines.

Oh thank heavens someone else asked this question! My boars lay giant banana poos around their cage as well and I've always wondered (figured they were "normal") but too scared to ask! :))
