we are ready for the hard work, i have looked after dogs before and brought them up from puppies, and trained them, so i know what is ahead, but it will be sooo worth it in the end.

You are right the time and effort you put into rearing a happy, well socialised puppy is rewarded for years afterwards :)

Well; I'm sorry; and take offence at your post; I meant no harm and never meant to imply your selfish infact that was the furthest thing from my mind.

Ah well; I can't win these days on forum can I? ::)
I don't want this forum getting involved with problems which are caused on other forums.

Cashmincal, I am sure you didn't mean any harm by your posts on the forum. I just want this to be a friendly place where everybody is happy!

I know Clare (Cashmincal) from quite a few other forums, and know that she would never deliberately upset anyone. I think she's lovely and a really supportive member of all the forums I know her from.

Puppy looks gorgeous, I LOVE puppies! As long as you're sensible introducing pup to guineas you shouldn't have any problems. I have a German Shepherd & a Cavalier King Charles, both of which will go into my shed when my guineas are running loose and there are no problems, but then they were all introduced properly. For any new guineas especially you need to be very careful. I'd never leave them unsupervised like that - it's just that they come in and out with me while I clean them out. My dogs love guinea poo!

My advice to anyone with a puppy is to please be really really careful - so many dogs are being stolen, especially puppies, and especially pedigrees. Make sure nobody can get into your garden or reach over the fence, open the gate etc; don't leave them unattended outside anywhere & I don't personally leave mine in the car on their own. It sounds paranoid but it's the only way to make sure they're safe.

Otherwise ... enjoy ....!

And get them micro-chipped!

Forgot that ... very important. I wish they did some kind of branding like they do horses which wasn't cruel so your dog was easily identifiable. I keep seeing these adverts for dogs which have been stolen but sadly so many of the pedigrees look identical so it'd be really difficult for someone else to recognise them. One of my dogs has an ear tattoo which was done when she was a puppy but she really squealed when it was done, felt really bad afterwards.
