Hello, I have realised there is a lump which feels like a cyst on the top of my piggys head it's sore for her when I touch it.

I can't see it as she has long hair.

The past couple of weeks her weight has been a little down.

She's running around and eating as normal.
Poor thing 🥺. if it is painful for your piggy, I think you should make an appointment for the vet and have is checked out.

Just a quick one. Rustys head abcess has been gone for several weeks now thank the lord but she has a very persistent scab on her head. How long do scabs take to heal its quite a hard lumpy scab. It's fallen off a couple of times but just seems to come back.
Hmmm, I think should keep an eye on that scab for a few days, and if it concerns you, than I think you should take you piggy to the vet.

Thanks, its not concerning, it doesn't hurt her, it is left over from the abcess. I wanted to know how long scabs take to heal in guinea pigs...

A scab shouldn't persist like this, which makes me think that it hasn't completely resolved. I look after a lot of piggies with cysts and abscesses and it should entirely heal once it has been resolved.
Thank you for your comments. It'd hard to take a photo as she won't sit still. It's definitely not infected like ot was previously. There is no puss etc. But the scab won't go away. What could be causing this?

I would try and get it checked out at the vets to put your mind at rest. There may be just a tiny bit of infection under it?

I'm thinking the same. It's kind of like a crystallised scab, like maybe it is weeping a teeny tiny bit and then drying.
