Adult Guinea Pig
What do people generally think of in terms of piggies lifespan, research shows me a wide range of answers but very generally seems to be 4 - 8.
However, as part of the rescue work I do I get calls all the time from people whose young piggies have died and not as far as I can see through any neglect or ignorance. Very many of them seem to be under 6 months old, which is so sad. It's not often I meet people who have had piggies older than 4 years. I met a lady a few weeks ago who had bought two 8 week old sows and both died within 3 weeks :'(
I've had a piggie die at one year old, the oldest I had was 7.
What are other people's experiences?
