My pigs were recently treated for mites and lice by the vets who said they had mites.. however I bathed my pigs today and 2 fleas jumped off my boy pig bruce and there seems to be little things in Maisys fur.. although my pigs aren't itching and their fur doesn't seem irritated. However, bruces hair is coming out a lot!

They are very hard to see and can only see them in maisys hair when I shine a light. Could this be lice? I have tried taking a picture, although it is not very clear. Also, the bits in her fur do not look like eggs when close..

I have thoroughly cleaned their cage and used cage and hutch spray also. Would lice n easy be a good option to try?

Also my mum has used this flea spray for her cats and dogs to get rid of fleas and it has worked. It says it can be used on smaller animals too, rabbits pigs etc.. has anyone used this before?

Any help would be appreciated!

I think they could be static mites or hay mites. but they don't jump! Lice n Easy or Flea or Die shampoo will sort them out. they need to be bathed in it then repeat a week later. @helen105281 for more advice :)

I ordered them some lice n easy shampoo earlier this evening so hopefully that will clear them up! Thank you for your reply

I would be wary about using the spray, guinea pigs are very sensitive.

I always recommend Lyclear Crème rinse which is a human headlice shampoo, patch test for 48 hours behind the ear first. I see you have ordered shampoo already, but bear the Lyclear in mind if it doesn't work. If you still have problems I have been told that clipping off the infected hair is sometimes the only way to clear it.
