Lethargic or worse? Suggestions please.

I am very sorry for the news! Fingers very firmly crossed.

Whatever happens, you have done your very best and couldn't do more.

Piggies can suppress illness to an amazing degree. :(

Thank you. Unfortunately we lost her a couple of hours ago. She couldn't come around from the GA and suffered a fatal heart attack.

She's gone. 💔

She couldn't come back round from the GA. They tried CPR and got a heartbeat but she suffered a heart attack and left to meet her sister, Pinky, at The Rainbow Bridge.
She wouldn't have been conscious. No pain. No more struggling to survive. We all did our best.
so sorry for your loss xx

One of my old boars pip passed away from 3 bladder stones that couldn't be operated on. I was syringe feeding him for a whole month because I couldn't manage to get a diagnosis from normal vets, then when I found our local Guinea pig specialist vet, he confirmed what was wrong and that it will get the better of him. I loved that boy so much, he got to 6 as well. He's the one who survived pneumonia, a few respiratory infections, and a really bad case of bloat where he had to stay at the vets for about 2 days. I came home to find him passed away after work one day. I always regret not getting him put to sleep.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so frustrating trying to get a diagnosis sometimes and you always end up with those lingering feelings of not having it sorted out quickly enough and the "What if..." moments. I'm trying my best to own my decisions and not have regrets, as difficult as that may be. It sounds like you did amazingly well with your boy.

Thank you to everyone for your sympathy and understanding.

I am so sorry 😞. You did everything and more for her. She was certainly loved very much and was very lucky to have you as an owner. Be kind to yourself.

Thank you so much. It's not the outcome we wanted but at least we don't have any regrets. She was loved and spoilt beyond measure. I genuinely appreciate the support, positive thoughts and encouragement from everybody on here. It's really helping us cope and process everything. ❤

I am sorry - but all you can ever do is give a beloved one a chance if there is still a reasonable expectation that she may make it. It is in situations like these that their small body is sadly against them. I have lost a couple of piggies due to heart failure in make-or-break operations, too.

Be kind with yourself in the coming days.
